Location Description

This residence is located in the countryside just a few kilometers away from Todi. In the heart of this town you'll find the Piazza del Popolo, the center of Roman life in ancient times. From the cafes that line the square you can enjoy a lovely view of the palazzos that symbolize both the civil and spiritual life of the town. The cathedral, with an original facade, dates back to the 12th century. The Palace of the Priors, located just in front of the cathedral, was built in the 14th century and displays a rather unusual example of medieval architecture. Other interesting buildings include the Mayor's Palace (now a museum) and the Palace of the People. Another local spot of interest is Perugia, notable for its ancient Etruscan town walls, still visible for long stretches at a time. Sights in town include the basilica of St. Dominic, the National Archeological Museum of Umbria, and the Piazza del Sopramuro, surrounded by several beautiful palazzos. Assisi, about 50 km from this villa, attributes its development primarily to the middle ages. The nucleus of the old city is protected by eight fortified entrances and wonderfully preserved town walls. Two castles sit up on the peak of the mountain, called the Major and Minor castles. Visitors with an interest in St. Francis will want to visit the basilica dedicated to him, as well as the churches of St. Clare and St. Peter. There are also many other churches and buildings which are simply gorgeous-- even for those not well-versed in architecture, the atmosphere alone of this lovely town is enchanting.

Exterior Description

(57 hectares) This independent farmhouse villa is located on an estate with two other structures, which along with the pool are located about 300 meters away. One is the main villa, which has an attached bigattiera (silk-worm house) that has been turned into a residence. There is also another building that functions as a bed and breakfast with a restaurant on the ground floor, where residents of this villa are welcome to eat. The three residences share a swimming pool (next to the main villa), six bicycles, and a ping-pong table. They are all surrounded by a lovely, well-equipped garden, and the property is approached along a tree-lined avenue. This farmhouse has its own private garden (1,000 m2) equipped with a dining table and chairs, sun lounges, and a barbecue.

Interior Description

Most of the furnishings in this villa are period and antique pieces, providing an elegant setting. The interior has been faithfully restored with original materials.

Ground Floor: This independent farmhouse has a large living space with a fireplace, Satellite TV, and a sofa bed suitable for one. The kitchen, with a dining table for eight, also has a fireplace, dishwasher, oven, cook-top, toaster, and coffee maker. There is one bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

First Floor: Upstairs there are two bedrooms. Both rooms have a 160 cm queen-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.
