Whether searching for the perfect Tuscan venue to host a wedding, special event, or a family reunion, this large Tuscany villa near Volterra, is the quintessential Tuscan villa. Volterra, the town of alabaster and the vampire family from the Twilight book series, also happens to be full to charm and wonderful architecture. The villa, owned by a famous film producer, is made up of a 17th century villa and an ancient farmhouse with outbuildings. Set on a hill with beautiful and extensive views, this ancient villa is well located for visiting the charming and medieval towns of Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, and Florence.

Location Description

Volterra is located 10 km away and offers all kinds of shops and restaurants. Volterra is a true regional gem where you can capture that "hill town experience" in full. From the characteristic main piazza to the Roman ruins, Volterra has something from every century all the way back to Etruscan times. Wander along the Etruscan walls, dating from the 4th century BC, or purchase your own alabaster memento in a nearby shop. Visit museums, the exterior of a 15th century fortress (the interior is a prison!), or sit in the Piazza dei Priori, one of the best town squares in the region-- and the site of many historic and often bloody events. Great day trips include San Gimignano, Siena and Florence.

Nearby Attractions: San Gimignano and its famous towers is one of the most visited towns in Tuscany. Visit the 12th century Duomo and the People’s Palace. Yearly festivals include a music festival dedicated to theatre, ballet and opera performances and a Medieval Harvest Festival where the people of San Gimignano dress up as knights and play medieval games and have tournaments. Top wineries surrounding San Gimignano include Montenidoli, Teruzzi & Puthod, Il Palagio, Fattoria Cusona and Panizzi. In less than an hour and a half, the seaside town of Livorno, and the famous Bolgheri winery can be reached.

Exterior Description

At the guest’s disposal is a large and beautiful swimming pool (20 m x 10 m, max depth 3 m, open late April – early October) and a large terraced garden with furniture. There are also dressing rooms with toilets, showers and a sauna, a bar, stereo system, a pergola and gazebo, a BBQ and wood oven next to the fully equipped outdoor kitchen, and table tennis. The back side of the villa with its century old trees is equipped with teak tables and chairs with two large sun umbrellas and sofas. Access to the villa is through a well-kept unpaved road of 2.8 km.

The Villa
Ground Floor: There is a large warm and cozy main entrance with a huge chandelier, fireplace and sofas, two breakfast rooms on the sides, guest bathroom with sink and toilet, laundry with washing-machine, dryer, iron and iron board, large professional kitchen with fireplace (ice maker, professional dishwasher, convection oven, two large refrigerators/freezers, private catholic chapel, two double bedrooms "Bianca" and "Bamboo" with shared bathroom with shower.

First Floor: There is a wonderful living-room with fireplace and a large, imperial dining table to seat 30, reading room with Satellite TV, rooms with billiard, roulette, game-room, and table tennis; "Rachel" double bedroom with single daybed and private bathroom with shower.

Second Floor: On this floor you will find "Napoleone Rossa" a twin-bedded-room with private bathroom (twin beds can be joined upon prior request); Suite "Napoleone Gialla" twin-bedded room passage-way room with two day beds that can be used for sleeping if required and private bathroom, double bedroom with private bathroom, kitchenette with small refrigerator and electric burners; "Pop" a double bedroom with private bathroom; "Alcova" a junior suite with double bedroom and living area with private bathroom, and "Liberty" suite with double bedroom, passage-way room with two day-beds that can be used for sleeping if required with private bathroom.

Third Floor: On the third floor there is "Mansarda Rosa" and "Mansarda Celeste," two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom, gym, sauna, "Waterloo" twin-bedded room with private bathroom with two showers.

Please Note:

• This property can be rented under the name Villa Conte Estate to accommodate more people.
• There is no heating in the Barn or Scuola, so during the low season (mid October through mid April), only the Main Villa is available for rent (for maximum 26 people).
• During high season, only weekly rentals are accepted, and arrivals and departures must take place on Tuesday.
